Conny van der Putten - Cornelissen

Welcome, I glady like to invite you to explore with me my most precious memories. During my rambles 'all over the place' it is nature that gets me in its spell, time on time again. The splendor of mountains, lakes, rivers and the many faces of the sky as well as the majestic beauty of the smallest of details in nature really can touch me deeply. In an attempt to store these emotions and impressions, I try to catch these in my work.
My motivation (and life motto)is expressed in the poem 'The Rolling Stone' by R. Service:

To scorn all strife and to view all life,
With the curious eyes of a child.

From the plangent sea to the prairie,
From the slum to the heart of the wild.

From the red-rimmed star to the speck of sand,
From the vast to the greatly small.

For I know that the whole for the good is planned,
And I want to see it all.

Ever since my childhood I like to draw and paint. However, due to a busy job and the usual hustle and bustle in building an existence in our society, I never really developed my skills. The last few years  I can use my time more as I please and have indulged myself to my long dormant passion.
In April 2008 I moved to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, where my husband and I run Nature Tours of Yukon (www. naturetoursyukon.com). 
The magnificent nature of the Yukon inspires me and  brings unforseen and unsuspected strength, insight and energy.
